Privacy Policy - Cal Import
Overview
Cal Import ("the App") helps you import calendar events from CSV or ICS files into your device's system calendar.
This policy explains what data the App accesses and how it is handled.
Important: Data Source Clarification
The App does NOT read or export your existing calendar events.
The App only imports events from files that you explicitly select and provide.
Data the App accesses
With your permission, the App accesses the following:
1. Files You Select (CSV/ICS)
- The App only reads files that you explicitly choose from your device storage
- For CSV files, you map which columns contain event data (title, dates, location, etc.)
- For ICS files, the App reads standard iCalendar format data
- Supported event data from files includes:
- Event title
- Start and end time (including time zone where applicable)
- All-day indicator
- Location (if present)
- Notes/description (if present)
- Unique identifier (UID, if present)
- Recurrence rules (for repeating events)
2. System Calendar (Write Access)
- The App writes events to your device's system calendar at your request
- The App does NOT read or access your existing calendar events except for deduplication purposes (comparing fingerprints to prevent duplicates)
- All imported events are stored in your device's local calendar
The App does NOT require an account, registration, or login.
How the App uses data
- The App uses file data only to create calendar events that you explicitly request to import
- Deduplication: The App may compare event "fingerprints" (title + time + location) with existing events to prevent duplicates, if you enable this feature
- Local processing: All file parsing and event creation happens locally on your device
- Import history: The App stores a local record of your import batches for undo functionality
Data sharing and transfers
- The App does NOT upload your calendar data to our servers
- The App does NOT sell your data
- The App does NOT share your data with third parties
- The App does NOT use analytics or tracking services
- The App does NOT collect any personally identifiable information (PII)
File Picker Integration
When you select a file using your device's file picker, the App only receives the file path and content of the specific file you choose. The App does not access other files on your device.
Data storage and deletion
- Imported events: Stored in your device's system calendar. Delete using your calendar app.
- Import history: Stored locally on your device for batch management and undo functionality. Can be deleted via the App's settings.
- Source files: The App does not copy or modify your source files. They remain in their original location.
- App data: All App data is stored locally on your device. Can be cleared via the App's settings.
Permissions
The App requests the following permissions:
- Calendar (Write) — to create calendar events from your imported files
- Storage/File Access — to read CSV/ICS files that you select
If you deny these permissions, the import features will not function.
In-app purchase
- The App offers a one-time Pro purchase to remove the 10-event import limit
- Payment is processed by Apple App Store or Google Play
- The App does NOT receive or store your payment card details
